We often hear that money alone does not bring happiness. One of Hollywood’s biggest names, with a net worth of $350 million, once said:

With this philosophy in mind, we embarked on a mission that combines generosity with real, measurable impact. We believe that giving should create lasting change where it is needed most.

Children are our future, and every child deserves access to education, opportunity, and a perspective beyond their immediate circumstances.

Together with my business partners Patrick and Dennis Hausmann, we turned this belief into action. Through our annual Frankfurter Oktoberfest, we founded an initiative to build schools in underserved communities.

What began as a shared commitment has become a long-term responsibility: creating places of learning that strengthen communities and shape futures.

Why the Dominican Republic?

While Germany has numerous organizations supporting education, we realized that our contribution would make a much greater impact elsewhere.

The Dominican Republic, a beloved vacation destination, hides a heartbreaking reality behind its stunning beaches and luxury resorts: extreme poverty, slums, and thousands of children – many of them Haitian refugees – without access to education.

Our Impact So Far:

Since 2022, the Frankfurter Oktoberfest has been the driving force behind our school projects in the Dominican Republic.

In 2022 and 2023, the Oktoberfest raised €50,000 each year. Each amount was matched by RTL – We Help Children, resulting in €100,000 per year and €200,000 in total.

Rather than building two smaller schools, we chose a more impactful path. With an additional €250,000 donation from Grupo Punta Cana, the funds were bundled to build one large, fully equipped school — designed for long-term impact and better learning conditions.

In 2024, this commitment continued. Another €50,000 from the Oktoberfest, again matched by RTL, resulted in €100,000, enabling the opening of the next school in 2025.

Total donations raised so far: €550,000.

Our goal is to raise between €100,000 and €400,000 every year — not just as a financial target, but as a commitment to real, lasting change.

Each contribution helps us build schools where they are urgently needed, creating safe places for learningand growth. These schools are more than buildings: they are the starting point for education, stability, and hope.
